A Moment of Stillness, Hand-Rendered by Andrew Kidman
A defining moment from Glass Love, reworked by Andrew Kidman into a handmade screen print.
Limited to nine pieces, each one uniquely rendered through the artist’s process—produced exclusively for The Surfer’s Journal.
→ Hand-screened on watercolor paper
→ Signed and numbered by the artist
From Film to Print
Originally captured on film, Glass Love has been translated into a tactile, small-batch print—where subtle shifts in color and process make each piece one of a kind.
Available only while the edition remains.
An Enduring Frame
“The Andrew Kidman oeuvre contains many indelible moments,” writes Jamie Brisick in TSJ 34.6.
“Derek Hynd at J-Bay in Litmus. Daize Shayne doing balletic things at the Pass in Glass Love.”
Kidman on the Process
“Twenty years ago, I started experimenting with screen printing the Daize Shayne image onto watercolor paper.
As it evolved, I began thinking about Warhol—the repetition, printing the same image in different colors and setting them side by side.
Each piece turns out unique because of those color shifts.”
A Return to Craft
“I haven’t made these prints in 20 years. Coming back to it meant unraveling the process again.
Screen printing is technical work—and easy to get wrong. I had to stay sharp.”
Each piece turns out unique because of those color shifts.”
