Contributions to The Surfer’s Journal are welcome. We’re always looking for writers, photographers, artists, and surfers to introduce us to new areas of interest. We strongly suggest that you read recent issues of the magazine to acquaint yourself with the type of work we publish.
For written submissions, please include a very short cover letter, summarizing your wave-riding/writing background, as well as why you feel this piece would be a good fit for TSJ. It can also be useful to note whether your story/pitch has strong photographic accompaniments. To ensure that our staff receives your work and contact information, please use our online form for all text and visual submissions.
We will do our best to respond within six months but, in some cases, this period may be longer. If you have not received a response from us within six months, we will be happy to receive e-mail inquiries and will do our best to respond. Please do not call the office with inquiries about unsolicited submissions. We appreciate your patience!
Feedback and letters to the editor can be sent via email to firstname.lastname@example.org or mailed to:
191 Avenida La Pata
San Clemente, CA 92673
Unfortunately, due to volume, we cannot provide individual feedback on submissions, though we do closely consider each one, and will notify you following our review. Thank your for your interest in TSJ and for sharing your work with us.
