Tevake

Kauai, Hawaii - SOLD

Details: 45-foot cruising Roger Simpson trimaran.

Description: Tevake is a well-equipped cruising trimaran, with an easy 175-190 mile per-day range, perfect for exploring your local waters or a more ambitious global soujourn.

The boat, built using foam sandwich construction, features a cutter rig with a roller furling jib, full batten hood mainsail with Harken bat cars, and 18 horsepower Yanmar diesel engine with a three-blade feathering prop. All winches are self-tailing Lewmars.

She was built in 1982 in Brisbane, Australia, by Peter Maclaren, and then extensively refitted in 1994 in New Zealand. All standing rigging were recently replaced in the last dry dock (June 2009).

The cockpit is semi-enclosed and allows for comfortable navigation even in foul weather (and shade on burning long-day sails). While many boats are built for day-sails or racing, Tevake is ideal for ocean-crossings and long-term cruising.

The cabin is adventure-ready. With a propane stove and oven, 12-volt refrigerator, and a queen-size bed forward, two single wing bunks aft, and two bunks in an aft cabin. The boat sleeps 6 comfortably. She also includes a navigation station opposite the galley. All accommodations are in the main hull, with storage in the floats. The float storage is significant, with enough room for your boards and gear. Tevake is very family-friendly (the owner and his wife cruised all over French Polynesia with a one-year-old).

Includes a 10-foot sailing/rowing Gig Harbor light weight dinghy and a 12-foot Livingston catamaran motor skiff with a 15 horsepower Yamaha. The Livingston is perfect for loading your crew and boards and motoring up to the surf, wherever you and Tevake may be.
