One of surfing's top photographers from 1970 to current day, Jeff Divine's work is presented in three decades, the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s. Including over 350 images, Jeff's book represents the single largest collection of one surf photographer's work ever published. The book begins with essays by surf historians Matt Warshaw, Brad Barrett, and an autobiographical sketch by Jeff Divine. The oversized 11.25" X 13" landscape format allows generous space for an elegant presentation of his favorite images and each chapter begins with Jeff's own behind the scenes reminisces, which continue on in the form of occasional story captions. This is the first in The Masters of Surf Photography, a matched series of high quality annual books, each featuring the work of a master surf photographer. The Journal's goal is to present in-depth collections of work by the sport's greatest photographers, allowing our readers to tap into an incredible visual timeline of surfing heritage that has previously lain dormant and largely unseen. -S.P.
