Jamie Brisick finds friend, mentor, and former surf coach Derek Hynd at Jack McCoy's office in Sydney. Through Derek's friendship and lessons Jamie went on to also become a surf journalist. At age 52 Derek has reverted back to the day's of childhood on a surfboard, riding finless boards and doing more 360s on a wave than one can imagine.
Liz Cockrum is a female surf photographer originally from Chicago. After a visit to California she decided to start surfing on the Great Lakes, then decided to move out to California herself. She now lives in Cardiff and brings a unique perspective to surf photography, considering her most significant work to date focused on the development of farmland 45 minutes from Chicago.

Rusty Long, Greg Long, and Mark Healey head to the city of Hangzhou on the Qiantang River during the week-long Tidal Bore/Moon Festival that celebrates the Silver Dragon. The Silver Dragon is the name of the 12-mile stretch of the Qiantang River Tidal Bore that they surfed. Up to a million people came to watch the wave during the week of the Moon Festival, and watch Rusty, Greg, and Mark surf the dangerous and mystical natural occurring river wave.
Tom Pohaku Stone stared at a Hawaiian pro surfing career at an early age. Running into trouble time after time helped him separate from his ego and find the traditional Hawaiian culture that founded all things surfing. Including the study of it as well as it's traditional practices like papa nalu (boards) and papa holua (wooden sleds that ridden down hillsides). Ultimately this saved his life.

With surfing taking a backseat ultimately in her voyages she's learned that the beauty of the adventure is in the process, the practice.
