The Lens: Meditations from a Forgotten Shore

Christian Beamish discusses living out in the North Pacific by a lighthouse amongst the seals and birds. Ankle Snappers: Photographs by Scott Carter

Jeff Divine introduces the artist with a story of the first time he met Jeff Carter, who showed up on a skateboard with his portfolio. Divine recognized his talent and called in the editors to take a look. With his "shorebreak background, Carter's world was all about refracting waves, backwash, little peelers, or pounding whomp."
